ahhhh so beautiful!!!

I honestly don't even know why i keep bothering..

dunno man, but this has always been so frustrating for me.. i mean i know that my doodles are nothing special and hell, i dont even like my art myself.. but i guess tumblr is always the website where people get the most exposure and i still mostly manage to get like 1-20notes mostly.. :^/

I've been thinking of taking some sort of hiatus of posting art anywhere but this blog. Like until the end of the year or so.. and just use the time to try and improve. I like blogger because noone really sees this site and this way i dont expect to get any sort of feedback/notes whatever. So this is okay. But everyone sees your art on tumblr and when most people dont even think it's wort liking or reblogging than that really disheartens me. orz.

But on a sidenote; it's been exactly two years now since i started drawing digitally -heyyyy. A small anniversary, i guess. haha
I mean i'm really a bit proud with how much i've improved in just 2years but i'm still nowhere close to where i want to be so i just need to practise a lot more!! I still have semester break until mid october so that's lots and lots of time to concentrate on drawing and improve!

Haaah i bought some books from Japan. It's the limited edition SnK volume 22, the latest Hunter x Hunter volume and the additional Fate/Zero light novel.

I like that whichever book you order from Japan it always comes with a bookmark~

Don't know what i could post..

I don't have anything to post since im pretty busy with my uni preparation stuff so heres a boring video of the stream i did once..im literally just lining and filling the base colors though..ugh.

OVERWATCH ! ! !

Fufufu i bought the Collector's Edition of the game!
i actually dont even like ego shooters but this one is really good!! 

I thought it was really worth the money (~99€) since the Origins edition itself is 50bucks. The collectors edition includes the artbook, soundtrack, the origins edition in a steelbook, some postcards and a huge massive Soldier:76 statue! (I mostly bought it because of the Artbook though :'D ) But yeah the package seems really high in quality.

The artbook is lovely, it is filled with character sheets for every hero as well as concept art from all the locations and more other art.

I bought most of them months ago but Weee's latest RKGK book just arrived so i thought i could make one big post about it.

These are pretty much all the artists i look up to (there are way more though); All their works are beautiful and really inspire me to get better and improve. Whenever i feel like beeing artblocked, i tend to look through their art and it always makes me want to draw even more. I aim to be able to draw stuff where i can really claim that those are real illustrations instead of just boring doodles.

Especially Shimizu-san's art is a huge motivation for me to get better at drawing backgrounds!!

Body-chan ᕦ( ̿ ﹏ ̿ )ᕤ

I bought this Body-chan figurine since I'm still really lacking this whole anatomy thing and i hoped this would help me get favourable poses for my doodles.

It is actually quite helpful! Initially, i was a bit disappointed because the figure itself is incredibly small (and it did costs around 60bucks with shipping after all); However you really can make some really greate poses with it and i do think that it will help me finally with these ominous full-body drawings so i dont necessarily regret buying it.

It comes with a lot of extra stuff, such as various different hands and stuff like a sword, gun, laptop etc. for body-chan to hold. 

New graphic card :O

I bought a new graphic card (and power adaptor) because my old one was too ..uhh ..old, yeah..

Anyway this one is really cool and one of the latest ones, i believe? My brother told me it was a real gaming card. It took us ages to install bc my brother just randomly plugged out various cables from my computer and didnt know where they had to be plugged in again;; It was nerve-wrecking and i was on the brink of going to a computer-store and let it be installed by pros (which would probably cost a fortune haha) but then i watched 2 different Youtube tutorials and was able to plug them in myself. Ha. Pride level over 9000.
My brother said that now that i have a real gaming card, it would be a complete waste to not play games on my computer...so he kind of installed the latest games so i could try them out and maybe find one i like. haah it's actually nice to play some games again~

The cool thing is that theres a pre-installed recording program which means i could try and record my drawing process; super cool!!

The beautiful brain by Ramon y Cajal

I managed to get my hands on this wonderful artistic book about the brain! It's so interesting and beuatiful i absolutely love it!

Ramon y Cajal a neuroscientist mostly known for his discoverings of the microscopic structure of the brain which he then redrew. The first time, I came in touch with his works was when i made an internship at a brain research institute back in 12th grade. And i've been admiring his drawings ever since. Unfortunately books of these drawings used to cost a fortune so i was really happy when i heard about the release of this book (only around 25€). I just had to buy it!

new nintendo!!!

My 3ds is dead ;_; (it was only 2somewhat years old!!!) which is insane regarding the fact that my (over 10 years old) Gameboy advance would most likely still work?! ugh; i wasnt even able to finish the new Pokemon game.
I even went so far to buy this limited edition new 3dsxl that cost 30bucks more than a normal 3ds even though im normally such a scrimper; haha

 I read that Nintendo used two differend screens (IPS and TN display) so i bought the latest (limited Sun and Moon edition) since it is said that nintendo made those with the newer display. Not entirely sure though..

Art Summary - 2016

I was absolutely sure I didn’t improve that much in 2016; until I looked into my art folder.

I really like the drawings I drew in the beginning of the year even though I still really didn’t know how to properly use Sai back then. I had absolutely no idea how layers really worked or all the layer modes and other stuff.

Starting march I tried getting properly used to Sai and started experimenting with Photoshop. I’m still rather bad when it comes to anatomy; but at least I can draw heads now; lmao.

Especially in the second half of the year I made vast improvements, at least I believe.

I drew rather small doodles instead of real drawings with a concept; I ought to improve that next year. I wanna get better at drawing backgrounds and proportions and stuff. I guess in order to improve, I have to come out of my "comfort zone" which is more difficult than it sounds. Drawing heads is simple; but planning a composed piece is exhausting. I realized that when i participated in various fanart-projects this year. 

I tend to redraw old stuff in order to see whether I improved at all ‘:D

I still don't think i developed anything close to an art style just yet, which is one of my main goals as well.

Game of Thrones - A song of ice and fire

Uhhh i got my hands on this really nice leather boxed set. I've been a fan of the series for quite some time but never had the time to read the books. And these were on sale due to the amazon prime day (around 35€). I have no more excuses now and can finally engross myself in the books! I heard they were supposed to be so different from the show so im really excited!!

Fate/Complete Material Volume 1

I bought the Material Book from the Fate Visual Novel, they happen to finally be available here. The first volume is mostly full with the games CGs and various art from other mangakas as well as Takeuchi Takashis. But the book itself is really nice!
